Setting: Canoe trip on Keele River, NWT. with Canoe North Adventures. We watched a grizzly bear persue a caribou back and forth across the river for about 10 minutes. Very exciting moments when they were heading towards us and the canoe was about to get stuck on a gravel bar. The bear got to within 3 feet of the caribou gave out a huge roar and ran away. We think it must have finally sensed our presence.
